Can you keep a Corgi in an HDB flat? No
Corgis, Pembroke or Cardigan, are not on the HDB-approved breed list. HDB flats may keep one dog of an approved small breed, and the Corgi does not qualify at any weight. Condos and landed homes are a different story: up to three dogs, subject to the estate's own rules.

Pembroke or Cardigan? Which Corgi You Are Actually Looking At
"Corgi" is two breeds, not one. The Kennel Club separated them in 1934, and the one Singapore buyers almost always meet, including every Corgi puppy we have carried, is the Pembroke Welsh Corgi. The Cardigan Welsh Corgi is the older of the two and genuinely rare here.
The fastest way to tell them apart is the back end. A Pembroke has almost no tail; a Cardigan carries a long, bushy one and always has. From there: Cardigans are longer in the body and heavier, roughly 11 to 17 kg against a Pembroke's 10 to 14, with larger rounded ears and a broader colour range that includes blue merle and brindle, which a Pembroke never has. Pembrokes run to red and white, sable, fawn and tri-colour, with the foxier head and the pointed upright ears most people picture.
Why it matters when you are buying: the two are priced differently overseas, and "Corgi" on a local listing tells you nothing about which you are getting. Ask which breed is on the paperwork before you pay a deposit. On this page, every price, weight and coat figure refers to the Pembroke, because that is what we sell. Neither breed is on the HDB-approved list.
Corgi Temperament: a Working Dog in a Small Body
The Corgi's secret is that it is not a lap dog at all: it is a cattle-herding farm breed that happens to come in a small, irresistible package. That means brains, drive, and opinions, delivered with a grin.
Herding instincts show up at home as shadowing you between rooms, the occasional ankle-level nudge on running children, and a strong preference for having a job. Ten minutes of trick training does more for a Corgi's evening calm than an extra lap of the estate.
They are vocal, sociable, affectionate with the whole family, and thoroughly wonderful for owners who wanted a real dog in a small footprint. They are the wrong choice for someone who wanted a quiet ornament.
Energy: Short Legs, Long Battery
Budget 45 to 60 minutes of exercise daily, plus mental work. In Singapore that means an early morning walk before the heat builds, an evening loop when the pavement has cooled, and games or puzzle feeders through the day.
A Corgi that gets its outlets is a delightful housemate; one that doesn't will invent projects, loudly. If your evenings genuinely cannot fit the walks, we would rather point you to a lower-drive breed now than take your money and your review later.

The quickest tell is the tail: a Pembroke has almost none, a Cardigan carries a long bushy one.
